Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The International Dead Sea Symposium (IDSS) is one of Israel’s prominent historic scientific meetings. Since1992 the IDSS has successfully contributed to making our country one of the leaders in innovative electrophysiology. Accordingly, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 18th IDSS on Innovations in Cardiac Arrhythmias and Heart Failure, scheduled for March 7-9, 2022, in Tel Aviv.
The International Program Committee (in close collaboration with leading scientific societies) is currently preparing a stimulating, multidisciplinary scientific program for professionals in all disciplines of arrhythmia: electrophysiologists, clinical cardiologists, and internists, for physicians working in sport medicine and family physicians, as well as entrepreneurs, start-up and more mature innovative companies, scientists, biomedical engineers, and the industry. IDSS will go beyond the industry standard by providing a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas, research results, and industry experience in a range of key areas.
The 2022 symposium will concentrate broadly on emerging technology and therapies that include all phases of the innovation process, e.g., ongoing, or recently completed studies on devices, ablation, mapping systems, and pharmacology. Modes of presentation include how to workshops, live presentations, debates and round table sessions on nurturing promising and groundbreaking ideas.
The meeting will commence with a full day of workshops and mini courses on cardiac anatomy, ECG, physiologic pacing, implantation of LAA occluders, S- ICD, lead extractions -a unique opportunity to learn and practice how to, HF management by CIED (CRT, His pacing, LVAD), and complex mapping and ablation procedures. It will continue with a two-day conference focusing on current approaches to treat cardiac arrhythmias, emphasizing the impact of novel technologies on current and future therapies intended to save hearts and lives.
Traditionally, a full day program of both pediatric and sport arrhythmology will be included, as well as a workshop designed for nurses and technicians working in pacing, EP, and cardiac care units.
As part of the innovation program, a technology parade will serve as a platform for start-up companies, and the IDSS-Mayo Clinic startup competition will offer new opportunities for novel ideas.
The 18th IDSS will be held in the elegant and picturesque venue of the David InterContinental Hotel & Convention Center, Tel Aviv and promises to be an outstanding event, and we look forward to hosting you in the vibrant city of Tel Aviv.
Israel is a global leader in the number per capita of coronavirus vaccine recipients, facilitating the holding of live events as pandemic protocols ease considerably. Touring Israel, you will notice a post Covid-19 atmosphere: restaurants are open, tourism sites welcome visitors and people meet in person again at events countrywide.
Now more than ever, we look forward to the pleasure of hosting you at what promises to be an exciting and fruitful meeting of the highest scientific standard, along with opportunity to meet each other IN PERSON after the long and challenging times of the COVID-19.
